The Bridgewater Police Department is accepting applications from qualified residents to fill two full-time (40 hours per week) vacancies for the position of Police Cadet, M.G.L.c.147 s.21A.
Candidates must be between the ages of 18 and 23 and must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
These are non-civil service appointments that expire when a Police Cadet reaches the age of 25. All candidates must be physically and psychologically fit, of high moral character and a person of sound judgement seeking a career in law enforcement willing to make a commitment to serving the community.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Answering telephones and communicating with the public; Maintain and file records; Receive complaints and complete reports; Monitor and assist with detainees; And perform other administrative tasks.
ALL CANDIDATES MUST PASS THE FOLLOWING:
- Background investigation
- Oral interview board
- Physical fitness exam
- Psychological screening
- Drug screening
- Medical examination
Starting salary: $31,200 annually, health and paid holiday benefits, vacation leave after one year.
