BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte invites community members to join the Bridgewater Police Department at its upcoming National Faith & Blue Weekend food drive.

WHAT:
The Bridgewater Police Department and the faith organizations of Bridgewater have joined together to host a food drive in celebration of National Faith & Blue Weekend.
The event is part of the nationwide Faith & Blue initiative taking place Oct. 6-9 this year, which is designed to facilitate safer and stronger communities by engaging law enforcement officers and local residents through the connections of faith-based organizations.
The department and partnering faith organizations will be collecting donations for the local food pantry during the event. Guests are encouraged to donate non-expired and non-perishable items, such as canned food (veggies, soups, beans, fruits), peanut butter and jelly, condiments, baking goods, muffin/cake mix, juice boxes, pasta and jarred sauce, and macaroni and cheese, as well as paper goods, toilet paper, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, laundry detergent and dish detergent.
All food drive donations will go to the Congregational Church and the St. Thomas Aquinas Church food pantries.
The event is free to attend and open to all.

Faith & Blue was inaugurated in 2020 by MovementForward, Inc., working with the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS Office) at the U.S. Department of Justice. National Faith & Blue Weekend is an extension of the One Congregation One Precinct initiative (OneCOP), a program of MovementForward, Inc., which is a bridge-building, solutions-focused human and civil rights organization based in Atlanta, Georgia. The OneCOP initiative pairs together officers at the beat or precinct level with local faith-based organizations.
