Chief Christopher D. Delmonte and the Bridgewater Police Department report that a suspect was arraigned today in Brockton District Court charged with murdering a woman in Bridgewater.
Bridgewater Police responded to a location on Spring Street at approximately 12:35 a.m. this morning for a report of an “altercation”. Upon arrival, officers found an unconscious adult woman with obvious serious injuries inside the home. She was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
An investigation immediately ensued and the suspect was identified. That suspect was arrested without further incident. A search warrant was also issued where further evidence was recovered.
Chief Delmonte wishes to thank residents for their patience during the investigation and subsequent search of the neighborhood. Investigators believe that the victim and suspect were known to each other and no additional suspects or ongoing danger to the community exists from this incident.
The men and women of the Bridgewater Police Department wish to extend heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
