Preliminary tests have been performed on the two pitbulls found deceased in Bridgewater on Sunday March 15th .
A Veterinarian from the Animal Rescue League –Boston has confirmed that both dogs were shot at least 2 times each in the head with a .22 caliber weapon.
One of the dogs (the younger of the two) had an extensive amount of fresh wounds located in the jaw and torso area. The older of the two dogs had an extensive amount of both old and fresh wounds that would suggest that the older dog has been involved in many other dog fights. All of the wounds found on both dogs are consistent with those of dog fighting.
The matter is under investigation by Bridgewater Police Detectives with the assistance of the Animal Rescue League- Boston.
