On Sunday March 15th, at approximately 12:45pm, Bridgewater Police Officers were called to the Bridgewater side of Pine St Raynham (it should be noted that Pine St. Raynham is the border between the two towns. Bridgewater is on one side of the street and Raynham is the other) A local resident was walking his dogs when he discovered two deceased dogs. The dogs were located in a wooded area at the end of the road. They were found about 200 feet off of the road way. The dogs appear to be two brown male Pitbulls.
Upon further investigation, Bridgewater Police Officers Kelly Chuilli and Andres O’Campo discovered two dead Pittbulls which exhibited wounds that would be consistent with dog fighting, although this has not been confirmed. The wounds were found in the neck and mouth area as well as in the torso and legs. When the Officers, along with Bridgewater Animal Control, began to remove the animals, Officers noticed several round holes in the head area of one of the dogs.
The same round holes were also discovered under the second Pittbull. These holes are believed to be gunshot wounds, but are waiting for forensic confirmation. Upon closer examination, gunshot wounds were located in the heads of the dogs. The animals are now in the possession of the Animal Rescue League – Boston. We are presently waiting for the Veterinarian Forensics to confirm the gunshots and the cause of death.
