On Thursday September 26, 2013at approximately 4:30pm Bridgewater Police responded to the Bridgewater Savings Bank, located at 1400 Pleasant St Bridgewater. The response was a result of a 911 call from an employee of the bank stating that they were just robbed and the suspect fled on foot.
An immediate search was conducted by Bridgewater Officers and K-9 units from the Department of Correction and Brockton Police Department with negative results. Upon further investigation, it was determined that a white male, possibly mid 50’s in age, approx 6’ to 6’02” in height with a mustache wearing blue jeans, baseball hat and sunglasses. The suspect was also wearing a dark blue or black shirt with a 9-11-01 memorial patch on the left breast of the shirt.
The suspect entered the bank and passed a note while demanding money. No weapon was shown. The suspect then fled on foot in a westerly direction on Pleasant St (rt. 104) with an undetermined amount of money.
No one in the bank was injured.
Surveillance video from the bank and neighboring business will be searched for a better description of the suspect. The matter is under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
