Bridgewater Police Respond After SUV Strikes House
BRIDGEWATER — Chief Christopher D. Delmonte reports that the Bridgewater Police Department responded to a crash in which a SUV went off the road and struck a house, causing significant damage, late Wednesday morning.
At approximately 11:50 a.m., Bridgewater Police received several 911 calls reporting that a Chevy Suburban SUV struck a house at 230 Vernon St.
The Suburban crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with a Hyundai Tucson. The collision caused the Suburban to go off the road and crash into the front of the house near the front door. Residents were inside the home at the time of the crash, but none of them reported injuries.
The driver of the Suburban, REYNALD CHERANT, AGE 44, OF RANDOLPH, suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening and was taken by ambulance to Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
The driver of the other vehicle, Peter Martino, age 67, of Bridgewater, and a passenger were both uninjured.
A criminal complaint will be issued to CHERANT for marked lanes violation and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
The Bridgewater building inspector responded to the scene and deemed the house to be uninhabitable until the structural integrity of the home could be determined.
The crash remains under investigation by the Bridgewater Police Department.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
