On Thursday June 25th at approximately 6:00pm Bridgewater Police and Fire Departments responded to several 911 calls referencing a Motor Vehicle Accident with Personal Injury in the area of 576 Vernon St.
The collision involved two vehicles. The operator of vehicle 1 (2008 Black Honda Ridgeline), later identified as Brian Gourgue of 66 Belmont St Marlborough, was traveling south on Vernon St and attempted to make a left hand turn into a driveway. When doing so, he cut in front of the northbound vehicle (2013 Ford Explorer), which was operated by Suzanne Keith of 35 Springhill Ave Bridgewater. The operator of Vehicle 2 and the 5 passengers were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
The operator of vehicle 1 along with the three children, which were passengers (ages 10, 9 and 6) were also transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. In total, 10 occupants were transported to area hospitals (Morton Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospital and the Brockton Hospital). The Bridgewater Fire Department had to utilize mutual aid ambulances from, Raynham, East Bridgewater, West Bridgewater, Halifax, Easton and Norton.
The operator of vehicle 1 (Brian Gourgue) was cited for:
- Fail to Stay in Marked Lanes
- Fail to use Signal
- Fail to Grant Right of Way
- Negligent Operation
- Fail to Properly Restrain Child Passenger
