On Sunday February 9th Bridgewater Police responded to Kentucky Fried Chicken, located at 222 Broad St. Bridgewater. The dispatch was in response to a 911 call from the business reporting that they were just robbed. The description given was a white male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black mask and black pants. The suspect had pushed a female clerk and then punched a male clerk in the face in an attempt to take the cash register drawer. After grabbing the drawer, the suspect then fled the scene.
While searching for the suspect, Bridgewater Police also received a telephone call from Lucky Star Gas Station, located at 28 Central Sq. Bridgewater, reporting that someone attempted to rob the gas station 20 minutes prior. They reported the suspect entered the gas station with a knife and passed a note to the clerk demanding money. The clerk then removed a large wooden stick from behind the counter and began yelling at the robber and chased him out of the business.
A short time later, an East Bridgewater Police Officer, assisting with the search, spotted the suspect at the rear of an adjacent business. The suspect then fled on foot from police. After a brief foot chase, the suspect was subsequently caught and arrested in a nearby neighborhood. Found on the suspect was a 4” folding knife and a black ski mask.
